I read a variety of genres but tend to favor romantic fiction, whether paranormal, steampunk, or historical. Some dystopian, UF, and even an occasional mystery might make their way onto my reading list. Otherwise, anything that sounds quirky and fun goes! :)

Do you believe in myths and legends that talk of supreme beings, fallen angels, and wars fought and won over the fate of humanity? What if these myths are true and you are about to uncover the magic within? Would you fight or run? Would the choice be yours, if unbeknown to you it is what you were born to do?

Ava, a successful photojournalist, has traveled the world and its most remote destinations, having purposely chosen a lonely pass, seeking solace and peace within. All her life Ava heard mysterious voices whisper to her in a language unlike any spoken in the world today. Some thought her crazy, others tried to cure her without luck. Until one day, her quest for answers brings her to the alluring city of Istanbul. The city is an unlikely destination for Ava. Crowded streets filled with its hustle and bustle only intensify the whispers, but its charm and history are enticing, and its magic is almost palpable.

Malachi is a warrior of the dying Irin race, set to protect humanity and preserve the knowledge. Tall, dark, and handsome as any hero must be, his and Ava’s passes must cross. With all the mystery surrounding Ava’s appearance in the city, Malachi vows to help uncover the secrets and protect her along the way, but will she be his savior or his undoing, only time will tell. From vivid Istanbul sights, azure beaches of the Turkish Aegean coast, to the historically rich Cappadocia region Ava and Malachi begin an incredible journey of discovery, passion, and a mystery buried deep within myth and legend. As the ancient forces continue to gather around, the war will not be far ahead…

Ms. Hunter weaves a magical tale of love and myth, set against culturally and historically rich backdrop. I loved the many layers of the story, from passionate love affair between Ava and Malachi, to intricate history of conflict between Grigori and Irin warriors, to the mysterious and elusive Fallen Angels. There was a lot of humor, love and heartbreak, adventure and suspense within these pages – a truly emotional journey, and one I sincerely enjoyed. The Scribe leads masterfully in with a promise and just enough story to leave you craving for more, serving as the perfect start of the new series.

Highly recommended!
